Guests ask us this weekly, and the honest answer is: neither is better — they solve different problems. Here's how to tell which one solves yours.
Balayage: softness and freedom
Hand-painted balayage creates a diffused, sun-kissed grow-out with no harsh line. It needs refreshing only two or three times a year, which makes it the lowest-maintenance blonde. The trade-off: lift is gentler, so ultra-bright platinum isn't its strength.
Foils: brightness and precision
Foils deliver brighter, more even, root-to-tip lightness — the choice for striking blondes, gray coverage blends, and maximum dimension. The trade-off: regrowth shows sooner, so plan maintenance every 8–12 weeks with gloss refreshes between.
The cost question
Balayage costs more per visit but fewer visits per year; foils cost less per visit with more of them. Over twelve months the totals often land close — so choose by the look and lifestyle you want, not the receipt.
